Job Description
At Build Formula, we’re looking for a Junior Front End Developer to join our team. You’ll be working alongside our Senior Front End Developer and our team of designers, researchers, and content strategists to build digital products that are both useful and beautiful. As a Junior Front End Developer, you’ll be responsible for turning designs into code, ensuring that the products you build are accessible and performant. You should have a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and be familiar with modern front end development frameworks and tooling.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand and adhere to company coding standards, development processes, and best practices
- Assist in the development of high-quality, stable, testable, and maintainable software solutions that meet customer expectations
- Help create technical specifications and design documents based on business requirements
- Implement new features and functionality in existing applications
- Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to ensure the quality of your work
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and fix defects in software applications
- Work closely with senior developers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and provide input on technical feasibility and implementation approaches
- Assist in estimating effort required for new development projects
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies and share knowledge with team members
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, or related field
- 1-2 years of professional experience in front-end development
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Experience with responsive design
- Familiarity with at least one CSS pre-processor (Sass, Less, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Git/version control
